What Can I Expect During the First Session?

A million questions! Just kidding. Kind of.

During the first session I do what is called a Clinical Comprehensive Assessment (CCA). We will get into more depth about what brings you to therapy, but it also consists of a lot of questions about your history and other seemingly-random questions. I used to internally complain about having to do this, but now I think it is a great tool for us to get to know one another. Around the third session we will come up with some goals for therapy (a treatment plan). If you’re under 18, a parent/guardian needs to be present for at least part of these two sessions, other than that we are on our own!

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions!
